The Town of Evans Police Department sadly mourns the tragic loss of Police Officer Frederick Garrasi III who died suddenly on May 3rd, 2013. Fred was 24 years old.

Evans Police Dispatchers took 2,610 complaints for the month of May 2013.

Patrol Division

During the month of May, the Evans Police Department participated in the New York State Buckle-Up Campaign.

  • Twelve prisoners were held in the Town of Evans Police lockup in May 2013.

  • One-hundred and two police reports were filed and 18 accidents were reported to State of New York as reportable accidents under the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

  • Evans Police Officers issued 175 simplified traffic informations and 4 parking tickets in May of 2013 including:

    Speeding 48
    Seatbelt 23
    DWI Related 2
    License/Permit Violations 12
    Red Lights 9
    Required MV Equipment 27
    Vehicle Registration Violations 13
    Stop Sign 7
    Other 63

    Detective Bureau

  • Twenty-nine people were arrested, mostly for violations of the New York State Penal Law, Alcohol Beverage Control Law and Vehicle and Traffic Law. There was 1 arrest for DWI in May.

    Dog Control

    Three appearance tickets were issued from the Dog Control office.
