    Detective Bureau

  • The Detective Bureau investigated four residential burglaries in October. One burglary investigation resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old male who was on parole for burglary. Members of the New York State Park Police Woodlawn Substation assisted in this investigation. The burglary suspect is presently being held in the Erie County Holding Center. His parole is also in question at this time.

The other three burglaries are still being actively investigated. Forensic evidence which detectives believe may develop a suspect is being examined at this time in connection with one of the Derby area burglaries.

  • The Detective Bureau is investigating a grand larceny case that occurred at Tops Market. A Lakeview woman reported that her wallet was taken from her purse while she was shopping in the store. The wallet was recovered in a ditch alongside of Route 5 in Hamburg with the cash, credit cards and identification missing. Detectives have a good description of a male and female who are suspected in this incident and also are suspected of similar incidents reported in the town of Hamburg.

The Town of Evans Police Detective Bureau reminds women when they are shopping to keep their purses, wallets, etc, in a secure place at all times., over the head under the shoulder. Never leave your purse unguarded in a shopping cart or anywhere in the store. Unfortunately these type of incidents as described above occur more frequently at this time of the year. Be on you guard at all times.

    Dog Control

Twenty-five appearance tickets were issued from the Dog Control Office.
