Monthly Report - October 1999


Honorable Mention

  • Officer Doug Czora received a letter of commendation for his actions on October 1, 1999, which resulted in 2 arrests for criminal possession of stolen property. While off duty, Officer Czora recognized a suspicious looking vehicle and observed two men running and carrying something unknown at the time. Officer Czora telephoned the Police Station and held the two subjects while a police car was en route to the scene. Officer Czora was commended for his diligence and dedication to duty in securing the arrests of the two individuals.

    Dispatch

    Evans Police Dispatchers took 1,468 complaints for the month of October 1999.

    Patrol Division

    The Evans Police Patrol Division handled complaints including:

    Accidents 39
    Ambulance 80
    Community Policing 92
    Harassment 38
    Lockouts 36
    Premise Checks 45

  • Eighteen prisoners were held in the Town of Evans Police Lockup in October 1999.

  • Ninety-seven Police Reports were filed and twenty-four accidents were reported to the State of New York as reportable accidents under the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

  • Evans Police Officers issued 237 simplified traffic informations in October of 1999 including:

    Speeding 130
    Seatbelt 7
    DWI Related 18
    License/Permit Violations 21
    Red Lights 2
    Required MV Equipment 7
    Vehicle Registration Violations 5
    Stop Sign 8
    Other 39

    Detective Bureau

    Thirty-five people were arrested, mostly for violations of the New York State Penal Law, Alcohol Beverage Control Law and Vehicle and Traffic Law. Eleven people were arrested for DWI.

    Dog Control

    Seventeen appearance tickets were issued from the Dog Control Office.
