Neighborhood Watch Program

Neighborhood watch is an organized effort by concerned residents to look out for each other’s safety, and to help law enforcement officers protect people and their homes against criminals.

Auto Theft Prevention Program

The Evans Police Department offers participation in an Auto Theft Prevention Program. To participate, the registrant of a vehicle must complete a consent form available through the Police Department.

Bicycle Patrol Unit

The Bicycle Patrol Unit was established in July 1997 to allow the community policing that provides closer contact with the public allowing direct contacts for problem identification and problem solving.

Accident Investigation Unit

The Accident Investigation Unit (AIU) investigates all fatal or serious physical injury vehicular accidents where there is a substantial risk of death or serious and protracted disfigurement.

Patrol Division

The uniform Patrol Division consists of 21 officers, including 17 police officers and 4 police lieutenants who are full-time Civil Service employees.

Evans Police Dispatchers took 2399 complaint calls, 133 of which were for Helmuth Fire Control, 116 of which were for Brant/Farnham for the month of September 2019.

  • Five prisoners were held in the Town of Evans Police lockup in September 2019
  • One Hundred Sixty Three reports were filed and Twenty Three accidents were reported to State of New York as reportable accidents under the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
  • Evans Police Officers issued 123 simplified traffic informations and 2 parking tickets in September 2019 including:

Detective Bureau

Twenty Eight people were arrested, mostly for violations of the New York State Penal Law, Alcohol Beverage Control Law and Vehicle and Traffic Law.  There was Two DWI arrests in September 2019.

There was 0 appearance tickets issued from the Dog Control office.
