Personnel
Detective Daniel Eppolito retired in April, 2000, after 23 years working in law enforcement, 20 years of which were with the Evans Police Department.
Patrolman Daniel Hontz also retired in April, 2000. Officer Hontz was appointed to the Evans Police force on October 2, 1980, after serving several years with the Angola Police Department.
Awards
Patrolman Douglas Czora received the 1999 Stop DWI Award from Erie County at an awards breakfast on April 14, 2000, for leading the department in DWI arrests.
The Evans Police Department was awarded $4,000 to participate in the statewide “BUCKLE UP NEW YORK!” campaign from the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.

- Thirteen prisoners were held in the Town of Evans Police Lockup in April 2000.
- Eighty-one Police Reports were filed and fourteen accidents were reported to the State of New York as reportable accidents under the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Detective Bureau
Seventeen people were arrested, mostly for violations of the New York State Penal Law, Alcohol Beverage Control Law and Vehicle and Traffic Law. Three people were arrested for DWI.

Seventeen appearance tickets were issued from the Dog Control Office.
