Honorable Mention

Lieutenant Kevin Walters is recognized for his outstanding efforts on December 23, 1999, in negotiating a gun from a distraught person after several attempts to do so by others were unsuccessful. In doing so, Lt. Walters is credited with saving a life as the subject threatened to shoot himself and others and fired 6-7 shots while locked up alone in a bedroom.

  • Nineteen prisoners were held in the Town of Evans Police Lockup in December 1999.
  • Seventy-six Police Reports were filed and thirty-six accidents were reported to the State of New York as reportable accidents under the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
  • Evans Police Officers issued 134 simplified traffic informations in December of 1999 including:

Detective Bureau

  • Twenty-one people were arrested, mostly for violations of the New York State Penal Law, Alcohol Beverage Control Law and Vehicle and Traffic Law. Three people were arrested for DWI.

Dog Control

Thirteen appearance tickets were issued from the Dog Control Office.
