Awards
The Evans Police Department was awarded a $6,000 grant from New York State to participate in the “Buckle Up New York!” campaign. The goal of this program is to increase seatbelt usage through increased enforcement in an effort to reduce serious injury or death from traffic crashes.

- Twelve prisoners were held in the Town of Evans Police Lockup in December 2000.
- Seventy-four Police Reports were filed and fifty-five accidents were reported to the State of New York as reportable accidents under the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Detective Bureau
Twenty-one people were arrested, mostly for violations of the New York State Penal Law, Alcohol Beverage Control Law and Vehicle and Traffic Law. Six people were arrested for DWI.
Dog Control
Nine appearance tickets were issued from the Dog Control Office.
