Monthly Report – December 2001
The Evans Police Department was notified by the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee that it was awarded a $4,500 grant to participate in the statewide “Speed Enforcement Unit” campaign. The goal of this campaign is to reduce speed related injuries or death through increased speed enforcement.
Dispatch
Evans Police Dispatchers took 1,652 complaints for the month of December 2001.

- Seven prisoners were held in the Town of Evans Police Lockup in December 2001.
- Sixty-six Police Reports were filed and twenty-two accidents were reported to the State of New York as reportable accidents under the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
- Evans Police Officers issued 94 simplified traffic informations in December of 2001 including:

Detective Bureau
Seventeen people were arrested, mostly for violations of the New York State Penal Law, Alcohol Beverage Control Law and Vehicle and Traffic Law. Four people were arrested for DWI.
Dog Control
Three appearance tickets were issued from the Dog Control Office.
