Personnel
Bruce Green Jr. was appointed Full Time Patrolman at a Special Meeting of the Town Board on July 30, 2002 and will attend the Erie County Central Police Training Academy beginning August 6th.

- Eighteen prisoners were held in the Town of Evans Police Lockup in July 2002.
- One hundred and forty-four Police Reports were filed and thirty-one accidents were reported to the State of New York as reportable accidents under the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Detective Bureau
At approximately 5:45 a.m. on July 26th, 2002, the Evans Police received a call from a resident that a teenage male had fallen off the cliff at Lake Shore and Peppertree in Derby. Highland, Lakeview and North Evans Fire companies responded to the rescue, as well as a boat from Lake Erie Rescue. Wilhelm Emich, a 14-year-old resident of Derby, was rescued by boat and transported by Mercy Flight from Sturgeon Point Marina to Children’s Hospital where the subject was in serious but stable condition. The subject was camping out with a friend near the cliffs and it is believed that the fall occurred between 6 and 6:30 a.m. The subject’s bicycle was recovered from the top edge of the cliff.
Dog Control
Twenty-three appearance tickets were issued from the Dog Control Office.
