Lt. Donald Hepkins retired effective July 31, 2010 after 32 years of service with the Evans Police Department.

4th of July in Evans

The officers and dispatchers of the Evans Police Department are commended for their outstanding performance over the 4th of July weekend, one of the busiest weekend celebrations of the year in the Town of Evans.

  • Thirty-six prisoners were held in the Town of Evans Police lockup in July 2010.
  • One-hundred and ninety-five police reports were filed and 22 accidents were reported to State of New York as reportable accidents under the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
  • Evans Police Officers issued 281 simplified traffic informations and 22 parking tickets in July of 2010 including:

Detective Bureau

One-hundred and two people were arrested, mostly for violations of the New York State Penal Law, Alcohol Beverage Control Law and Vehicle and Traffic Law. There was 8 arrests for DWI in July.

Dog Control

Ten appearance tickets were issued from the Dog Control office.
