Honorable Mention

Officer Dennis Feldmann received a letter of commendation for his outstanding actions to save the life of a person in custody at the Evans Police Station on September 1, 1999. After several attempts to revive the subject with his oxygen pump failed, Officer Feldmann cleared the subject’s tracheal tube with his hands and forced air into his breathing tube which brought the man back to consciousness.Officer Doug Czora received a letter of commendation for his actions on September 8, 1999, in discovering a Texas fugitive with a stolen vehicle and a 14 year-old runaway from Texas. Officer Czora was commended for his outstanding investigative efforts which resulted in the arrest of the subject and his return to Texas to face charges there, and the juvenile was returned to her parents in Texas.

Evans Police Dispatchers took 1,504 complaints for the month of September 1999.

Patrol Division

The Evans Police Patrol Division handled complaints including:

• Thirteen prisoners were held in the Town of Evans Police Lockup in September 1999.
• Ninety-eight Police Reports were filed and twenty-three accidents were reported to the State of New York as reportable accidents under the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
• Evans Police Officers issued 468 simplified traffic informations in September of 1999 including:

Detective Bureau

• Twenty-eight people were arrested, mostly for violations of the New York State Penal Law, Alcohol Beverage Control Law and Vehicle and Traffic Law. Five people were arrested for DWI.

Dog Control

Six appearance tickets were issued from the Dog Control Office.
