The Town of Evans Police Department Citizen Police Academy was established in 2010 and is a community-oriented program designed as a way for the public to learn about Police Department operations and the duties of Evans Police Department personnel; and as a means of strengthening the relationship between police officers and the citizens we protect and serve.
As a community service, the Evans Police Department conducts security checks for residents, at their request, while they are away from their home for any length of time.
Neighborhood watch is an organized effort by concerned residents to look out for each other’s safety, and to help law enforcement officers protect people and their homes against criminals.
The Evans Police Department offers participation in an Auto Theft Prevention Program. To participate, the registrant of a vehicle must complete a consent form available through the Police Department.

The Marine Rescue and Recovery Unit of the Evans Police Department was established on August 15, 1988.
